What is the definition of a control for expiriment?

A control is a subject that doesn't receive the experimental treatment, but all other conditions are kept the same. For example, if you are testing a number of liquids in test tubes to see if they contain salt, you need to include a test tube of distilled water as a control. When you perform the test for salt, you test the distilled water, too, and you should have a negative response.What is the definition of a control for expiriment?
A control group is the group that is not subjected to whatever is being tested. Think of the control group as a constant to account for any effects an environment has on variables in your experimental group.
