What is the definition of self-control?

the will to control and have power over one's actions. self-control is more often associated with actions than with thoughts or attitudes.

For example, if you decide to work out every morning before classes, you would do that even if you had a big party the night before or if you had other valid excuses.

While self-control is powerful, thinking about what your goals are and what behaviours you want to control is even more powerful. Think about it - self-control involves choices and sacrifices. You want to guide your energy towards worthy causes - things you really believe in. Self-control is mostly self-rewarding. Your friends won't give you ';points'; for all the control activities.
