Your definition of a Controlling Relationship?

I'm curious as to what everyones definition of a controlling relationship is? Is it where you blow off all your friends for a love interest? Are controlling relationships usually affairs? Brief scenario...i have a male friend in a relationship with a married neigbor............he's blown off ALL his friends cause she got bent cause he was hanging out w/other female friends (he's a single dad by the way) threatened to end relationship...he has been shutting himself off to focus on her she has kids too......they all hang out together.....husband knows guy...have seen 3 of them in pic together recently so i'm guessing he doesn't know. She also has a guy friend back in her home town she's totally in love with and leaves messages like ';i miss you'; etc etc etc. I think she's playing the the single dad big time.........and he's gullible enough to fall for it (i've been this route too). I feel bad for him.. but back to question...what do you define as a controlling relationship?Your definition of a Controlling Relationship?

A controlling relationship is when one person dictates to the other what they can do, where they can go, who they can talk to, what they can wear etc... any of these things. No one owns anyone else. Each should be able to make their own decisions and the moment one tries to over ride the other is when red flags should go up.
